Catch of the day:
Empty(ish) beaches:
The season has ended, the light has changes, the sea has taken on winterish hues and the air is cooler. Restaurants, shops and hotels are closing their doors and shutters, until spring. Every now and then a whiff of bonfires floats through the air, promising cold winter nights and hypnotising flames.

  1. Ah, that fall feeling. I've been thinking about it, too. Lovely post and photos. :)

It's still beautiful but you're right in a different light. You smell bonfires and we in Pickering smell the smoke from fireplaces!

  3. The way the light hits your town is diffused and darkens the faces of the building facing the sea, in the spring and summer light it shows each and every detail . The town is in slumber. The waves creep ever further inland till they almost reach the boats on the sand. Fewer and fewer people stroll along to the end of the pier unless they 're waiting for a ferry or boat to a town further up the coast.Yet its still all so lovely!

  5. OK; sembra che ci sono riuscito !! Come li cucinerai i polipi ? Domani scendo al mercato. Ho una gran voglia di stoccafisso. Magari scriverò come lo cucinano i pescatori in toscana. Ciao, Mx

  6. Even now, your town is beautiful. I wish I were there, even without the hustle and bustle of summer. Someday I will go back....Thank you for the gorgeous pictures. Keep telling us about your life in Positano - Poppy, Carlo, and you. You are like characters in a novel to me here in Minnesota!

  7. The catch of the day was really interesting. I love to walk along the waters edge and see what all the fisherman have caught :)
