Ao Nang part 2


We decided to do a kayaking tour of the mangrove swamps and caves near Krabi. There were only 8 people in our group and the guide, who swore his name was Popcorn, led us paddling through silent swamps, took us into caves with (rather suspect in my opinion) 3000 year old cave paintings and throught tunnels that were spikey with stalagtites.

Popcorn took us through narrow passages and swampland, keeping us away from other groups, making the day more intimate rather than touristy.
Finally we paddled through a dark low tunnel that led into a huge silent lagoon surrounded by jungle and cliffs.

We broke for lunch and then were driven to a lush woodland river for swimming. I didn,t participate having been put off swimming a couple of days ago when Carlo pulled two enormous jellyfish out of the sea:
