Yikes! Its THAT time of year again when the beach is more crowded than the subway in rush hour:

But it gives me time to hide away from the crowds, staying at home and working on a few new ideas.

For now lets just take a minute to admire this mans lovely red socks. Just what you need for a day on the beach in high summer:

  1. Shudder at the thoughts of being on a beach like that. And shudder at meeting a man in socks like that (unless it's fancy dress).

I hate secrets! Come on, blurt it out!

  2. Wouldn;t want to be on a beach that crowded, but I would love some of the heat...it is so cold here.

  3. so mean not to tell us! you know we're curious.

maybe the socks are to stop him from scratching his mosquito bites, although the zanzare are not as bad in posi as they are here in venice....

  4. You've been "working hard" at getting pregnant for over a year? No wonder you're so fit! ;)

I would definitely consider wearing red socks to the beach if it meant that I could be on the beach. But nooo, it's back to work in freezing Sweden. Ok, today wasn't as freezing as last week and we haven't had a drop of rain today (a first!) but temps around 20 aren't really beach temperatures if you ask me.
    I miss Italy.

The beach is Normale for Italy on a hot day. The red socks must be the son of Barber. I believe I was introduced to family member of his who also wore red knee socks along with flip flops no less, he introduced himself as Nicola the son of the Barber. Go figure! He however lives in Cefalu Sicily.

  11. I think I'll get a pair to wear next summer when I'll hopefully be in Naples again. Man if I ever wore something like that my wife and daughter would disown me.

    Good luck on your project!

  12. What's the secret? So exciting! I've been reading your blog over the past few weeks and love your story-telling ability . . so maybe it's a book?! Hmmm, or something you and your Mum wanted to do together . . .maybe it's a visual project? Whatever it is, I know it must mean a lot to be moving forward with it. She would be so proud and happy, and I know whatever it is, you'll do a great job!

Meanwhile thanks for the red socks picture . . . at least if we can't all be in Positano right now, we CAN be reminded that not ALL the sights are lovely! tee hee

  13. lol...the subway in Toronto is less crowded then the beach at Positano...I like riding the subway in the summer (well not really, it's just necessary)...I'm dreading the fall (back to school and winter crowds)! I can't wait for you to put your secret out there! And the red socks, nothing compared to what I see on the subway on a daily basis! Freak City. It's endearing however, perhaps his arthritis is acting up...Come back Sara...I miss your blogging!
