One thing that I love about living here is that at the end of a night out you can walk home. It's completely safe, doesn't take long at all and there is no waiting aroudn for taxis or rushing to get the last train home. Just a ten minute walk along a road strung with fairy-lights!
What is not so nice are the rockfalls that occur every now and then, often after heavy rainfalls. The roads are often closed until the obstruction is removed and the mountain is inspected and deemed safe again. It can be very frustrating as there is only one main road along the coast and a detour up through the mountains is very, very long.
Sometimes in the winter it's just best to stay put, sit back and admire the view. Go for a walk along the beach at sunset, stop off at the bar for a cup of tea and a cake on the way home. You never know who'll be in the bar, often you stay longer than you planned. Then home to plan dinner, light candles and curl up on the sofa with a blanket to ward off the chilly winter air!

  7. one of the (many) things I miss most about "city" life...not having to plan for the drive home. Leave out the rock slides though ;). Those twinkle lights make the street so curious and magical. Wish I could walk right into the monitor!
